The Church of South India (South Kerala Diocese)

The London Missionary Society (L.M.S) now the Council for World Mission, commenced its work in South Travancore in1806. Vedamanickam Maharasan Desikar was the first Christian who invited William Tobias Ringeltauble the first Missionary to come in Travancore. He crossed into Aruvamozhi on April 25th 1806.

 
 
     
     


The Church of South India affirms that Church is the Servant of God to carry on the mission rooted in Jesus Christ and based on the Scriptures.

 

 


The main theme of our diocese is the uplift of the poor through all possible efforts, because, Jesus Christ told that what we do for the poor, is considered to be done for the God.

For this purpose, the Diocese has organized various activities through charitable society, Board for childcare and certain other dealing for physically handicapped, such as Cerebral palsy Home, Polio Home, Blind School, and the School for the Deaf and Dumb. The local churches are engaged with Poor Fund Collection and
utilization for the uplift of the poor in the society.
